Assessment of hydrotoxicological impact of dredging activities and shore nourishments

Within this working area (WA 6) the hydrotoxicological impact of shore nourishments will be investigated and measures will be developed how to reduce ecotoxicological impacts. It is aimed to determine pollutant concentrations, bioavailability, coastal dynamics and effects through hydrotoxicological experiments with key organisms and native sediments including chemistry, sediment sampling and its characterization. Furthermore it is aimed to deepen the understanding of hydro- and sediment dynamics under different setups (e.g. annular flume, mari- and microcosms). Therefore the interdisciplinary method Hydrotoxicology is used to answer the named objectives.
