Strategy towards an “Ecosystem Approach to Management” (EAM) for shore nourishments (all partners)

In work area WA 1 all partners will research and analyze the current practice for shore nourishments with regard to EAM. The tools and models for improved hydro-/morphodynamic modelling and the methods for the evalution of environmental impacts, which are developed in work areas WA 2 – WA 6, will then be incorporated into a new strategy for the planning and monitoring of sustainable and environmentally friendly shore nourishment activities. In addition to new datasets and improved models, STENCIL will provide process and work-flow studies to develop standardized operative observation, analysis and decision-supporting tools.
